Datatrap for TDC-3000 is a convenient, flexible, and easy-to-use package for capturing real-time process data from a Honeywell TDC-3000 Distributed Control System (DCS) to an ASCII file.

Intuitive and Easy to Use - Complete with an LCN "native window" schematic that allows easy and intuitive setup of tag names, collection interval (from one second to ten minutes) and duration, the user can quickly capture data for performance monitoring, process troubleshooting, control loop bump test, tuning, etc. The display provides a clear indication of the status of the collection with a message line, status lights, and counters. The program automatically appends a .zz suffix to the user path and filename to prevent accidental overwriting of important system files, and if the selected .zz files exists, its records are automatically appended to, rather than overwritten, to protect potentially valuable data. The point parameters most commonly of interest (Process Variable, Setpoint, Output, and Mode) can be selected by the user. If the variable does not exist, Datatrap will override the selection. The ASCII file data is comma delimited, making subsequent import into Microsoft EXCEL or other data analysis packages a breeze.
Online Help -In addition, a custom trend display is included that provides a quick trend of all the variables set up for collection, and, the HELP key will call up a condensed on-line help display.

User may select Standard or "EnTech" compatible data headers:

  • Standard headers consist of date stamp at the top of the file and Tag.Parameter labels at beginning of each column
  • "EnTech" headers consist of a number of sapecial labels and values at the top of each column to facilitate easy import into EnTech's tuning and anaylysis software.
Useful for importing data into control loop and performance analysis packages.
Detects existing PV filtering and recommends appropriate additional; anti-aliasing filtering based on user selected sampling time.

Shipped complete with printed and ".pdf" versions of the User's Manual (the same file format as Honeywell's electronic documentation).
Shipped on your choice of media: TDC formatted 150Mb Bernoulli or 5.25 floppy disk or PC formatted 3.5 floppy disk ($100 discount if ordered on 3.5 floppy disk).
Requirements:

  • Honeywell TDC-3000 LCN Release 430 or greater

  • A non-redundant Application Module (AM) with:

      1. CONV and FILE external load modules installed

      2. Sufficient free CPU and memory

      3. System space for two additional Custom Data Segments (CDS's)
